FELPHAM ONBOARD KIDS RACING TO SAILING SUCCESS

Five Felpham Sailing Club youngsters will be receiving World Class coaching and competition support from sailing’s national governing body after first learning the ropes through a nationwide grassroots programme to get more school kids sailing.

Fin Swanton, Sam Brackley, Alfie Lester, Jack Miller and Lauren Bentley were all initially introduced to sailing through their schools’ involvement in the RYA OnBoard scheme at Felpham SC, and have now been selected for training squads supported by the RYA on the pathway to Olympic Classes sailing for 2015-16.

‘WOW’ AS FELPHAM SC SHOWS ’THIS GIRL CAN’ SAIL!

Felpham Sailing Club is proving that ‘This Girl Can’ thanks to special newly-developed ‘girls-only’ sessions to get more females sailing.

So far up to 20 females have been taking advantage of the club’s Women on Water – or WOW – sessions since they started in June in response to Sport England’s ‘This Girl Can’ campaign to get more females into sport.

ROOM FOR HIRE AT ARUNDEL MUSEUM

The Jubilee Room at Arundel Museum is an excellent venue for education/training workshops, seminars, exhibitions, corporate events and drinks parties. Situated in a beautiful location in the centre of Arundel, opposite the Castle and adjacent to the car park.
Facilities include projector and screen, laptop, tables and chairs, tea and coffee facilities, full exhibitions hanging exhibition for the walls and additional display panels.

Arundel Historic Tours

Arundel Historic Tours have a daily town tour at 2pm from The Norfolk Arms (weather permitting). A tour by local Arundel town enthusiasts that lasts around 75 minutes. Tours are for everyone and dogs are welcome and cost £5 per person. We can accommodate from singles through to groups and coach parties. If, through age or infirmity you are unable to walk to the top of the High Street then we can adjust and adapt tours to suit, contact us and we can arrange a tour at a time that suits. Or have a Talk, all the information and 100 year old photos without the walk.

Arundel Museum awarded Accreditation by the Arts Council England.

The Accreditation Scheme sets nationally agreed standards for museums in the UK. There are currently just under 1,800 museums participating in the scheme, demonstrating their commitment to managing collections effectively for the enjoyment and benefit of users.

To qualify, museums must meet standards on how they are managed, for the services they offer and on how they care for collections.

THE YAPTON & BARNHAM SPIRITUALIST PIONEER CENTRE (FIVE VILLAGES)

Would all our members please note we have now become affiliated to the Spiritualist National Union Charity No. 261898 and we have changed the name of our Centre from The Fox Spiritualist Pioneer Centre to The Yapton & Barnham Spiritualist Pioneer Centre (Five Villages) Patron Kate Fox. We are delighted they have accepted us as we feel we can gain so much more knowledge from them in so many ways and with their help extend this knowledge to others wanting to learn and understand Spiritualism.

Bognor Regis Museum Opening Date

The Bognor Regis Local History Society Museum is now officially for the 2015 season. It is situated in West Street, Bognor Regis PO21 1XA and this year has a large amount of new items and display for visitors and residents alike. It is free entry and everyone is welcome to delve into the history of the town and discuss their own memories.

World's Richest man

Chris Reynolds (US Delaware resident) temporarily became the richest man in the world when PayPal accidentally credited him with over $92 quadrillion – yes, a stunning $92,233,720,368,587,800! Reynolds, who claims to generally spend under $100 per month on PayPal, was bemused by the error and jokingly offered to pay off the US National Debt if allowed to keep it.
